The Road to Access: Mid-State Health Center Celebrates National Health Center Week

Aug 8, 2023 | News

Join in the celebration as Mid-State Health Center and communities nationwide come together to mark National Health Center Week, from August 6 – August 12, 2023. Together, we shine a spotlight on the incredible clinics across the nation, including Mid-State, whose unwavering dedication keeps our communities in the pink of health.

Community Health Centers (CHCs) are the heartbeat of healthcare, reaching out to over 30 million people across the country, and Mid-State Health Center is no exception. CHCs are not ordinary medical clinics; they are problem-solvers who reach beyond the exam room to care for the whole person by providing access to not just top-notch primary care, but other necessities like food and housing resources, health insurance marketplace support and more. Further, they care for everyone, regardless of insurance status.

CHCs are not just healers, but innovators who look beyond medical charts to address the factors that may cause poor health, such as poverty, homelessness, substance use, mental illness, access to nutritious food, or unemployment. As they collaborate with other healthcare entities, governments, and organizations, they stand as a crucial pillar of healthcare, ensuring that even the most vulnerable among us receive the care they deserve.

This year, Mid-State Health Center is turning the spotlight on ACCESS. While primary care options in the area are limited, and our community members and neighbors are searching for high-quality care, Mid-State is ready to care for those in the community who need it most. Through the onboarding of eight new providers across their service lines of primary care, dental, and behavioral health, along with a focus on continuous process improvement through internal workings, Mid-State’s focus is on ensuring that everyone in the community has the care they need.

Speaking on this occasion, Robert MacLeod, Mid-State’s Chief Executive Officer, said, “Mid-State Health Center proudly joins communities nationwide in celebrating National Health Center Week, emphasizing our dedication to ACCESS for all. Through new providers and continuous process improvement, we strive to ensure everyone in our community receives the high-quality care they need and deserve. We want to extend heartfelt thanks to our patients who choose us as their healthcare home.”

Mid-State Health Center is committed during National Health Center Week, and every week, to addressing factors that cause poor health among our communities and providing high-quality care, accessible to all. We will be there when you need us; Mid-State Health Center, Where Your Care Comes Together.
