Protecting, Connecting and Thriving: We Are All Public Health

It’s that time of year again when we celebrate our local public health system! This week marks National Public Health Week, and our theme is “Protecting, Connecting and Thriving: We Are All Public Health.” This theme underscores the inclusivity of public health, encompassing everyone regardless of their occupation or role in the community.

Public health extends beyond healthcare services, such as those provided by Mid-State. It encompasses the collective efforts to ensure the well-being of our neighborhoods, the safety of our environment, and the accessibility of fundamental resources like clean water and nutritious food. It’s about fostering connections within our communities and recognizing that we are all interdependent. When we come together to support public health, we can achieve healthier and happier communities for all.

As a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), Mid-State Health Center plays a vital role in public health by ensuring equitable access to high-quality healthcare for everyone in our community. We are dedicated to serving medically underserved areas and populations, offering essential primary care services regardless of ability to pay.

While Mid-State is just one piece of the public health puzzle, we want to express gratitude to all our partners, including our Board of Directors, community members, patients, law enforcement, and local social service agencies. The vitality and health of our community rely on the collaborative efforts of all stakeholders. Thank you for being part of this essential team effort.
