What is an Internal Medicine Provider?

Internal medicine physicians, also known as internists, are primary care doctors who specialize in the diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing care of adults. They have specialized training which is very beneficial for patients with complex health concerns. They are able to treat patients over 18 years old.

Internists provide care for all levels of wellness and are very good at helping patients with more complex health issues too. They take care of patients in a thoughtful and compassionate manner. Our adult medicine providers list to patients and help develop a plan that works for their health goals.

Internists are often asked to act as consultants by their colleagues to address the needs of patients who have complex health issues. They spend at least three of their seven or more years in medical school learning how to prevent, diagnose, and treat diseases that affect adults.

All our providers are committed to providing a personal, comprehensive, and continuing care experience for each individual patient.

Our team of medical providers at Mid-State is here to help you manage your long-term condition and ensure the highest possible quality of life.
