Mid-State Health Center is thrilled to announce the newest addition to our Behavioral Health team, Jennifer Hagan, a highly skilled and compassionate counselor specializing in mental health and substance abuse treatment. With her compassion and dedication to patient-centered care, Jennifer will be a valuable asset to Mid-State.
Jennifer Hagan brings a wealth of expertise to Mid-State, having earned her Bachelor’s Degree of Arts in English from the University of Maine, Orono, ME, and a Master of Education in Counselor Education, Mental Health Counseling from Plymouth State University. She is board licensed as a mental health counselor and alcohol and drug counselor, with additional training in mindfulness, narrative therapy, and EMDR.
Jennifer specializes in treating patients of all ages, with a focus on providing inclusive healthcare services, she believes in separating the problem from the person. Her practice encompasses a wide range of specialties, including trauma, anxiety, depression, substance abuse treatment, and support for individuals exploring gender and sexuality. Jennifer works with teenagers, adults, and neurodiverse individuals with a holistic approach and focuses on growth and development, valuing humor and striving to create a comfortable environment where patients feel safe and supported on their path to healing.
When asked about her approach to patient care, Jennifer shared, ”I believe in a person-centered approach, where every individual is valued and respected. My goal is to create a safe and supportive environment where patients feel empowered to embark on their journey to wellness, focusing on growth, acceptance, and genuine positive regard.”
Jennifer’s decision to join Mid-State Health Center was influenced by its commitment to meeting the diverse needs of the community and its holistic approach to health care.
