Mid-State Health Center Seeks Volunteers for their Patient Expert Advisory Team

Jul 6, 2015 | News

Mid-State is seeking new members to add to our “Patient Expert Advisory Team” (PEAT). Begun in January 2012, the PEAT serves as a volunteer advisory council, assisting Mid-State in improving the experience of those receiving Mid-State’s services. Who better to engage in the improvement process than the “experts”, our patients!

What is the PEAT member commitment? Team members are asked to participate in six meetings per year, one every other month. Each meeting lasts approximately one and one-half hours from 5:30 – 7:00 p.m. The meetings are typically held on the fourth Tuesday of every other month at Mid-State’s Plymouth office on Boulder Point Drive. Mid-State provides a meeting leader to help guide and engage the group in their role as an advisory council.

What exactly does the PEAT do? In order to provide a meaningful and positive patient experience, Mid-State engages its patient advisory team on a variety of topics, including upcoming Mid-State projects and initiatives, changes in care delivery, marketing, suggestions for quality improvement and other areas that benefit from patient feedback.
