Mid-State Health proudly joins health centers across the nation in celebrating National Health Center Week (NHCW), taking place August 3-9, 2025. This year’s theme, “America’s Health Centers: Celebrating 60 Years of Improving our Nation’s Health,” honors the extraordinary legacy and impact of Community Health Centers (CHCs) across the country. For six decades, CHCs have been a cornerstone of public health, delivering high-quality, affordable care to millions, regardless of income, insurance status, or background.
Nationally, Community Health Centers serve over 32.5 million people and represent the country’s largest primary care network. Mid-State Health is proud to be a part of this movement, offering comprehensive and compassionate care across its locations in Bristol, Plymouth, and Lincoln. Every day Mid-State’s dedicated care team works to break down barriers to care and reach beyond the walls of the exam room, providing not only exceptional medical, diagnostic imaging, dental, and behavioral health services, but also supporting social needs such as food access, housing resources, care coordination, and transportation services.
Community Health Centers like Mid-State are lifelines for underserved populations, serving 1 in 5 rural residents, 1 in 3 people living in poverty, 419,000 veterans, and 9.4 million children nationwide. In New Hampshire and all over the country CHCs make it possible for families in remote or medically underserved areas to access care that would otherwise be out of reach. With rural communities often located more than 50 miles from traditional medical facilities, the presence of CHCs is not just beneficial, it’s essential.
“As we mark National Health Center Week and reflect on the 60-year legacy of community health, we are reminded that access to care is not a privilege, it’s a right,” said Robert MacLeod, CEO of Mid-State Health. “Mid-State remains committed to meeting the health needs of our neighbors, removing obstacles to care, and providing services that address the root causes of illness. Our team is here for everyone, every day, and remains dedicated to our patients and the wellbeing of our communities.”
Throughout the week, Mid-State Health will be recognizing the vital work of CHCs and their employees. As Mid-State honors this national celebration, it renews its mission to provide equitable, community-based care that supports the whole person, not only during National Health Center Week but every day of the year.
