Denise Poudrier Normandin, MA, RD, LD, DipACLM, Founder and CEO of Enlighten Nutrition & Wellness, LLC and Mid-State Health Center Dietitian, has been nominated by the American Heart Association Women of Impact “Go Red for Women” Campaign, 2022.

“I’m honored and grateful to be nominated as a candidate for the 2022 Women of Impact, Go Red for Women campaign to benefit the American Heart Association,” says Denise.

A New Hampshire native, she has been providing medical nutrition therapy and wellness services for over twenty years. Normandin is a registered and licensed dietitian in both New Hampshire and Maine.

Most recently, Normandin achieved board certification in lifestyle medicine from the American College of Lifestyle Medicine, and also holds advanced certifications in weight management.  She describes her work as “making a difference in peoples’ lives, empowering women, men and children alike to choose health and strength for a better life.”

Rural Americans face numerous health disparities compared with their urban counterparts contributing to greater risk and death from heart disease, cancer, unintentional injury, chronic lower respiratory disease, and stroke. More than 46 million Americans, or 15 percent of the U.S. population, live in rural areas as defined by the U.S. Census Bureau.

Denise notes, “These statistics provide a sobering challenge for rural residents who face struggles accessing predictable healthcare services,” she goes on to say, “It is extremely important to provide my medical nutrition therapy services to rural communities – I accept the challenge to work with people to improve their health and transform their lives – working together we seek out better nutrition and lifestyle habits that lead to more fulfilling lives!”
