As January marks Cervical Cancer Awareness Month, Mid-State Health Center is proud to continue its commitment to fighting cervical cancer by offering FREE breast and cervical cancer screenings for eligible individuals. Early detection is crucial in the fight against cancer, and Mid-State Health Center is dedicated to ensuring that all individuals have access to life-saving screenings.
Through a partnership with NH Health and Human Services’ NH Healthy Lives Breast and Cervical Cancer Screening Program, Mid-State Health Center is working to reduce cancer mortality rates across New Hampshire by making screenings accessible to those in need. The goal is to detect breast and cervical cancers at their earliest stages, when they are most treatable.
“By providing free screenings, we hope to save lives and ensure that financial barriers do not prevent anyone from accessing critical care,” said Debbie Guilbert, Mid-State Health Patient Relations and Quality Director. “Cervical cancer is a disease that impacts so many people, and early detection is key to fighting it.”
This program is available to individuals aged 21-64 who are uninsured, have insurance that does not cover screening tests, or have a limited income. To schedule a screening appointment, individuals are encouraged to contact Mid-State Health Center at 603-536-4000 ext. 5002.
Cervical Cancer Awareness Month serves as an important reminder that early detection saves lives. Regular screenings such as Pap smears and HPV tests help detect abnormal cell changes before they become cancerous. When caught early, cervical cancer is highly treatable.
